Yes it's still early and Freddy doesn't normally have a great October but man, it's like Groundhog day with this team with the constant running around and lack of defensive awareness. Also the Leafs always seem to get caught flat footed in the first minute or two in there own rink! They always continue to want to look pretty but can't seem to dig in when they need to! Yes there are some new defensive partners learning each other's tendencies again so that takes some time but there just seem to be a lot of the same old habits that continue to bite them in the backside...and you can't blame it on Gardner and Hainsey this year like many did before!

I made the mistake of reading the comments from the last thread. Some of the peeps on here smoke some decent crack Imo.
Come on guys its only been five games. The Leafs are missing two key players (players playing out of position). The roster turnover was huge from last year (need at least 20 games to gel). There supposedly the 3rd youngest team in the League ( There top stars are barely out of diapers). Give it time and if its still like this after 20 games, then start to worry.

mass pity party in here tonight?

fire and trade everyone?
get some gud old pros...

slow starts - are they a result of the guys checking their social accounts prior to the game?

or are they simply sitting back and letting the 11.6, 11.0 and 10.6 Million dollar men to do it?

..

or - are they following the St. Louis model?

Picture this..

The opening faceoff of the game. Buffalo wins the draw, they skate it out and pass to Eichel BOOM EICHEL IS ROCKED AND THE PLACES (frank)ING EXPLODES! THE FANS ARE GOING (frank)ING INSANE AND (frank)ING FIGHTS ARE BREAKING OUT!!! WOOOOO!!’ WOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! PUNCH EM IN THE (frank)ING FACE!! WOOOOO!

Never gonna happen ever again. Not as long as this current management is in place.

Such a pity.

They’re following the Jesus model, everyone just turn the other cheek. Pray for miracles and try not to get nailed to the boards..

I hope they aren't religious. They should not be wasting any time praying.

pride
spine
attitude
commitment

got nothing to do with who's injured... don't lay down in your own barn.

"wait... I need to check social media to see if pride and spine and attitude are trending"...

problem isn't physical..

if "it ain't physical... then its got to be mental"...

if they are as good as they would have us believe, they shouldn't lose games like that.... particularly not at home.

Hayes was 100% correct... the most heralded roster in 50 years... they'll either be the most loved ... or disrespected.

we'll see who asks for a trade first.

The Bruins sure sealed their fate last season losing 7-0 in the season opener.

Everyone knows the first 5-10 games of the season tells the entire story.

If they can get rolling, they could be very hard to beat. I’m thinking the best game of the regular season will come vs Tampa. Leafs will have a feel good win next time they play them, then it should become a rivalry. We need some bad blood, but....

Bruins got the benefit of the doubt from the hockey gods because they lost 7-0

Leafs suffered the worst loss possible 7-3... never ever really in it... but doesn't look bad on the scoreboard for the forwards, just for the goalie. Just the way the 8digit guys like

1st round exit, 2nd round exit and 3rd round exit are the exact same thing. All three you didn't win the cup anyways so it doesn't matter when because it still equals the same conclusion. Plus I don't read into the past because the Leafs have arguably by far the toughest first round matchups the last three seasons. It's basically been what should be a finals machup in the first round.

I'm afraid these little boys don't know what to do if there's bad blood... and they certainly have no idea how or when to "create bad blood"...

they still believe the game is played "above the level of indecency"...

that's why they don't fundamentally understand Kadri and why he did what he did.

and the fans get more outraged about the behavior of their own player rather than the abhorrent stupidity of an official

"there's lots of learning to do... lots of embarrassments needed before they are ready to think about winning anything.

we should create a facebook account which is named in honor of the hockey gods...

and then mess with the players and the twinky fans.

Woooo. Next shift Leafs play their always intimidating 4th line with Reaves and Ross Johnston, Reaves leaves his point trying to take Eichels head off!! He barely misses him, but with a great move through Reaves legs, Eichel still has the puck! Now Dahlin is wide open on the point and Eichel sets him up for the one timer and the Sabres score!!!
